Simone Biles ties record with sixth gymnastics world all-around gold medal

Simone Biles’ return to all-around competition on the international stage could not have gone much better.
In pursuit of a record-tying sixth all-around world title Friday night at the 2023 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, Biles opened her outing with a near-perfect vault. It wasn’t the Biles II, her freshly named signature skill, but it was an only slightly less difficult Cheng, for which she earned a huge 15.1 — with a 9.5 out of 10 execution score.
