Mallory Swanson signs long-term deal to stay with Red Stars through 2028

Mallory Swanson is staying in Chicago for four more years.
The Red Stars signed Swanson to a long-term contract, calling it “the most lucrative agreement in the history of the National Women’s Soccer League,” but did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. CBS Sports reports the deal includes a fifth-year option, with the deal potentially being worth close to $2 million at over $400,000 per year.
Swanson’s deal would surpass Houston Dash forward María Sánchez’s $1.5 million, three-year contract signed in December.
