AP Top 25 men’s college basketball: Kansas ranked No. 1, Duke second in preseason poll

Kansas emerged as the top-ranked team in the 2023-24 AP Top 25 men’s college basketball preseason poll released Monday, receiving 46 first-place votes and moving up three spots from last season.

Duke came in at No. 2, jumping 10 spots with 11 first-place votes, while Purdue, Michigan State and Marquette rounded out the top five.
The Jayhawks went 28-8 last season, finishing first in the Big 12 (13-5) before losing in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to Arkansas. They also ranked first in The Athletic’s preseason rankings.
